This horse has had back-to-back wins recently and has elite AW sprint figures to back it up. With Rossa Ryan on board now, it's a major upgrade for this style of horse.

Ferrous is shaping like an improver after a useful fourth when resuming. With the benefit of that run under his belt, Tom Marquand could be steering this one to victory.

A bit more guesswork here than with my other selections but Clive Cox is in excellent form, currently 2-2 in the last two weeks. This horse won a novice over 6f at Doncaster on seasonal reappearance last year in fine fashion before finishing runner up in a hot 18 runner handicap at York next time out on his handicap debut off a make of 90. Admittedly he was underwhelming next time out at Ascot before running there again when last seeen but the softer ground that day was not ideal for him. He's been gelded since and returns off a 174 day break so fitness has to be taken on trust but with the stable in such flying form and the fact that this horse won on debut in 2024 and won when returning from a 203 day break last year, perhaps when he's fresh is the time to catch him. The AW is an unknown having never tried it before but his dam was an AW winner and his sire's progeny have a healthy record on the artificial so I see no reason why he won't take to it. He's well worth taking a chance on at this price

No pace in here, so should get it easy on the front. Difficult to catch and can get 3 places here despite the seven runners. Won a decent handicap at Goodwood off 91 and had won off 87 the time before. Now back down to 88, so on a winnable mark. Ran well on the AW numerous times, including 2.25L behind Ferrous when getting 8 lbs; now gets 16 lbs. AW win back in 2024.
