Brown Boots hit form with a vengeance on his chase debut last month, when the step up to three miles appeared to play to his strengths. He could be thrown in if replicating that form back over hurdles, but backing short-priced runners in large-field handicaps over three miles isn't something that appeals to me. A chance is taken with the aptly named Take Chance, who was a decent third at Punchestown in December. He should be spot on for today's test after a run at Musselburgh earlier this month, and the combination of first-time blinkers and his rider's seven pounds all-orange could see him taking a hand in the finish.

That was off a seven-month absence and not the first time he's gone well fresh, so the three-month absence prior to today's run shouldn't be a negative factor.
