I've backed this horse a few times, including when she won at Punchestown in December. Mixed results since then, but if on a going day she can be involved from a fair mark. Handles heavy ground, gets this trip, but tends to stay on one-paced. A good record when Hogan is in the plate. Decent each-way bet with five places on offer.

I think this horse has a decent chance in what is an interesting race. His mark is easing and he won off a higher mark last year. He should be fine on soft ground. Freddie Gingell takes the ride. With three places on offer for a seven-runner race, it's worth an each-way bet.

This horse is a risky long shot, especially after a poor run last time out. I'll set out the case for the defence. First, most of its best runs have come at this course. Second, it's down to a good mark. Third, it handles heavy ground. Fourth, whilst often campaigned over further, it does well around this trip. Fifth, T. P. Roche takes the ride. There are plenty of reasons not to back this one as well, but given the odds I'll take my chance. If any bookmakers are offering extra places, I would place my bet with them.

This horse has run five times over the larger obstacles with two wins and one placed effort. Won on a comeback run after a summer break at Ayr in November. Clearly handles heavy ground and gets this trip. No-show last time out, but if you can forgive that run he has claims here. On a fair mark and a yard starting to pick up. Worth an each-way interest.

This is a risky one, as other than a third-place finish over course and distance last month there has been very little encouragement of late. That, of course, means his mark has been in freefall. Surely at some point there will be a bounce back. What tempts me here is the mark: it's a C6, and crucially the jockey booking, as he has a very good record when on board this horse.

This is a risky one given this horse was in poor form on the turf when last seen in October. However, this is balanced against a very good record at this track with one win and two places from three runs. Also he has previously gone well fresh, specifically in March last year after a winter break. On a decent mark so on balance worth chancing each way.

This veteran hasn't been in the best of form since returning from a summer break. However, given a good record at this course, a drop in grade, and a decent mark, it might be worth an each-way bet. Currently some bookmakers are offering three places for this seven-runner race. If the fire is still burning in this horse, it should be involved at the finish.
